The Round Table Discussion was well attended by so many people interested in meeting these exciting artists and listening to their talk. Thank you to the Conrads Family Fund for funding this epic event and to Unity Morgan for their support.

Information about the original event:
In conjunction with the ongoing joint exhibition at the Morgan County African American Museum and the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art, an artists’ round table discussion with all five of the contemporary artists whose works are featured in the show will be held at the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art (STMA) on Saturday, March 3 from 3-5 p.m.
Curator Judy Barber will lead Atlanta-based artists Kevin Cole, Shanequa Gay, Alfred Conteh, Kevin Sipp and Lynn Marshall-Linnemeir in an exploration of the wide-ranging artistic approaches and numerous styles of the paintings, sculptures, photographs and textiles concurrently on display at both museums through March 17th.
The free community event will include a meet & greet with the artists beginning at 3 PM, followed by an informal discussion on the recurring themes in the artists’ works: the search for identity, the longing for home, the power of spirituality, and the importance of inter-generational connection. A Q & A session wraps up the afternoon at 5 PM. For questions or more information, please visit www.steffenthomas.org or call 706-342-7557. The museum is located at 4200 Bethany Road, Buckhead, GA 30625, 7 miles outside Madison, GA.
