Arts in Bloom – MAY 2019

Floral Arrangements and Art Quilts

Interpreting the Art of Steffen Thomas from the permanent collection of the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art

April 11 – May 25, 2019

Celebrating creative expression through fine art, fiber art and floral designs, and using the works of Master Artist Steffen Thomas, the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art is proud to announce Arts In Bloom opening at the Museum on Thursday, April 11.  Interpreting the works of Steffen Thomas will be art quilts, displayed at the Museum alongside the inspirational piece of Steffen Thomas art for the duration of the exhibition, and floral designs, displayed over two long weekends, from April 11 – 13 and April 25 – 27.

Professional floral designers and fiber artists with a passion for ingenuity and a love of nature, flowers and creativity were carefully chosen to deliver the Arts In Bloom programming on April 12 and 13 and April 26 and 27. Just as Steffen Thomas spent much of his career interpreting the world through a wide variety of mediums, the spirit and creations of these artists reflect Thomas’ originality.

Quilting lectures and trunk shows, floral demonstrations, and a presentation on cooking with edible flowers are all part of the related programming.  Guest speakers are Susan Knapp (Blue Moon River), Laura IaRocci (Faith Flowers), Kristin Rodrigeuz (Fiber on a Whim), and Cindy Shultz of Cindy Lutini Catering.  Special combination tickets are available for those who are attending more than one event per weekend!

We are still accepting entries for Floral Designers through Friday, March 15, 2019. If you are interested in applying, please click here.
