A Feminine View of Brotherhood

Introduction
STMA’s annual Brotherhood of Mankind exhibition returns to the West Gallery from February 3rd to April 2nd, 2022 as A Feminine View of Brotherhood. This show is an invitational exhibition featuring the works of four female artists. Guest Curator Daricia Mia DeMarr has invited InKyoung Choi Chun, Hannah Israel, Jennifer Mack-Watkins, and Dayna Thacker to exhibit. She has selected specific works by each that fit the Brotherhood philosophy and address themes of inclusion, harmony between different groups, and hopes for a better future.

More About the Guest Curator:
Daricia Mia DeMarr is from Los Angeles, California. She launched her collegiate career at Clark Atlanta University but received a BA in Art History from Georgia State University and master’s degree in Visual Arts Administration from New York University. She is an arts enthusiast, ideas fanatic, curator and visual arts consultant.
In 2015 she was invited to curate a special exhibition, ‘Respectfully Yours,’ at the Queens Museum, Bulova Center with renowned street artist Lady Pink. Daricia Mia was the Assistant Director at the NYU Kimmel Center Galleries organizing and curating over 100 exhibitions in five years, and has been a member of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Art Program team.
She is the founder of Pi Arts Projects LLC, a visual arts consultancy providing a variety of services, from collection management to art programming development. Daricia Mia works closely with Peg Alston Fine Arts and is also the co-founder of Black Women in Visual Art, a social and professional development platform for Black Women working in visual art spaces.
